  • Career coaching is shorter-term and supports and guides individuals to maximize their potential. A career coach may help an individual with their career choices and support them with the issues they face in the workplace. Some support may include providing support with resumes, navigating workplace issues, assisting with advocating for workplace accommodations, enhancing individuals interviewing skills, job searching and matching, and administering and interpreting assessments to help individuals achieve their career goals.

  • A CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) coach provides evidence-based interventions to support individuals in identifying and changing negative or unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be creating roadblocks and stopping them from achieving their personal or professional goals.

  • Coaching involves a solution-focused approach with steps to getting you to where you wish to be next. Coaching is also focused on learning from experience and creating solutions and small steps to thinking and acting in different ways and moving forward. Coaching is usually short-term.

    Therapy is a medical treatment for those typically with a mental health diagnosis. Therapy is focused on understanding the past and healing from trauma. Therapy is usually long-term.

    Note: Coaching is not a substitute for any mental health service. Only a qualified doctor or psychotherapist is legally allowed to diagnose a patient.

  • An intake will be completed to obtain background information about you to create an individualized plan to achieve your goals. The information obtained may include any current barriers/stressors you are experiencing, education/employment history, substance use history, mental health history, brief medical history (i.e., learning or physical disabilities; this information is needed to accommodate you better), or social history.

    Please make sure you have read, understood, and signed your consent and agreement form before the start your appointment.

  • It is recommended that you try three sessions to have a more in-depth understanding of your individualized plan for reaching your goal(s).

    The first three sessions typically consist of:

    1. Intake/obtaining background history

    2. Administering assessments

    3. Reviewing the results from the assessments/Presenting a treatment plan

    • Increased confidence

    • More effective communication skills

    • Improved work performance

    • Improving relationships with others

    • More self awareness and insight about oneself

    • Help solidify your values

    • Learning new skills and strategies to overcome obstacles

  • A coach can help you navigate these following barriers:
